Since qualifying from St. Thomas’ Hospital Medical School in 1983, Dr Melissa Fitzgerald has practised acute medicine in a variety of settings. After ten years in cardiothoracic transplantation at the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Trust, she spent seven years in clinical cardiology at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust.

In 2009 Dr Fitzgerald moved away from hospital medicine to pursue an independent career, setting up The Fitzgerald Clinic in Tavistock, Devon, as a private provider of physician-led aesthetic therapies. She rapidly built a busy practice in Tavistock, before expanding to Plymouth and Exeter.

In 2015, in addition to her work in the South West, she joined Dr Tracy Mountford at the Cosmetic Skin Clinic, an award- winning clinic in London’s Harley Street district. Tracy Mountford, a world-renowned cosmetic physician and a pioneer of aesthetic medicine, was one of Dr Fitzgerald’s early teachers and mentors in the field.

Performing over 1,500 injectable procedures per year, Dr Fitzgerald is a highly experienced and skilled practitioner who combines exceptional clinical expertise with an over-riding concern for your satisfaction and safety.

She is a full member of the British College of Aesthetic Medicine, and a member of the Aesthetic Complications Expert Group.
