Frown, Forehead, and Crow’s feet
The muscles of facial expression are constantly in motion as we use them to communicate our emotions, such as anger, anxiety, concentration, laughter, or surprise. Habitual overuse of certain groups of muscles can cause us to appear tired or cross, and this affects the way other people perceive and react to us.
In youth, the wrinkles that these muscles produce disappear when we relax. With increasing age, however, (and other factors such as genetics, sun exposure, and smoking), the skin loses its elasticity due to a reduction in collagen and elastin, and the dynamic movements start to form permanent wrinkles and lines.
treatments for frown lines & crow’s feet
There are different treatments that can help reduce the negative impact of these lines. Options may include a prescription-only drug called Botulinum neurotoxin (BOTOX®) to reduce the movement of the muscles. This may be combined with dermal filler injections to lift and soften permanent lines.
Dr Fitzgerald provides a no-obligation consultation during which she will examine you and advise which treatment or combination of treatments will be most effective for you.
